Matuschka - a researcher for the form of a classical woman, a woman of smooth, rounded curves instead of a 20th Century boy-woman of harsh angles, uses herself as the primary model for these photographic compositions. The female figure in the artist’s world represents the core of life, a world of safety. A woman may explore the traumas and broken romances of the outer world, but she may always retreat to the warmth, fertility, and nourishment of the form that is her own.
